> THE KASHMIR ISSUE
Ways of looking at a problem

Violence embraced Kashmir in the 1990s and in 2008 it enveloped Jammu in its fold over the Amarnath Shrine. The land transfer to Amarnath Shrine Board by the state Cabinet and then revoking the order, resulted in huge protests, hardening of positions and drawing of borders on communal lines within Kashmir. Conflicting voices from a state that is on a dangerous precipice.
